Mindfulness

“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally.”

Jon Kabat-Zinn

Mindfulness Meditation is applicable to many individuals.  The core aims of mindful meditation include:

  • Greater awareness of thoughts, body sensations, and emotions
  • Changing reactions to these thoughts, sensations, and feelings where they are more rooted in acceptance and flexibility
  • Greater capacity to make effective choices in responding to these internal events

Classes meet once a week for eight weeks.  Class themes include prevention of negative thought patterns, gaining awareness of habitual thinking styles, mindful awareness, and empowerment.  Call one of our instructors at New York Psychotherapy and Neuropsychology Group today for more information and an initial one-on-one consultation.  Registration includes eight classes and all course materials including yoga mat, video and audio recordings, books, and other resource materials.  Reservations for Spring classes are being accepted now!
